Revenir was established to eliminate bureaucratic financial inefficiency, reduce paperwork and provide value to individuals. Shawn, a Canadian citizen, conceived of the idea for Revenir’s first VAT reclaim product, whilst trying to navigate through the minefield of VAT reclaims. Fed up with queuing at customs and filling in countless forms, all to pay 70% of the reclaim to a broker, he decided there had to be a better way to reclaim.

After meeting co-founder Miles Covers through his Masters at Imperial College London, they honed this vision into Revenir, developing a unique API service which could automate the entire process. They soon realised the best way to reach customers was through banks and card providers. Rather than creating a new application or yet another reclaim process, they adapted their service to plug into financial applications, streamlining VAT reclaim.

They have expanded this technology into products for both retail and corporate banks, allowing for eligible reclaim on VAT without any hassle, within 48 hours. This digital system streamlines VAT reclaim for individuals and businesses, all whilst eliminating the need for paper receipts and physical forms. In the future, straightforward digital VAT reclaim will become a consumer expectation, rather than an undesirable hassle.
